Warsaw has been chosen to host the 2nd Congress of EU Civil Law Notaries, which will take place from 10 to 12 September 2008. In a rapidly developing Europe, the centre of interest is not limited to Brussels. The economic dynamism and increased mobility of EU citizens make greater demands on the European regulatory framework. The realisation of the European judicial area is fully underway.
This event will bring together civil law notaries from at least 21 European countries in addition to numerous legal and political figures. This is the logical sequel to the great success of the 1st Congress of EU Civil Law Notaries held in Rome in November 2005 with 2000 participants and the active presence of political figures such as the Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, Mr F. Frattini.
The theme of the 2nd Congress of EU Civil Law Notaries is 'A European area of legal certainty: a value for citizens and families, an opportunity for businesses'. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions concerning the current and future legal framework in these spheres, which are evolving rapidly at EU level.
Civil law notaries are at the service of families and businesses and as such they play an active role in elaborating this framework, which must guarantee legal security and equal access to justice for citizens and families in Europe.
