Conférence des Notariats de L'Union Européenne

A word from the CNUE's President 2006

The Council of the Notariats of the European Union would like to welcome you to its website.

The CNUE groups together the following European civil law notariats:

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Slovenia and Spain.

On behalf of these notariats, the CNUE’s main objectives are as follows:

- Promoting and developing the European civil law notariats’ culture and concepts, in addition to the resulting activities and services within the European Union.

- Training civil law notaries in Community law so that they can exercise the notarial profession competently in the European Union, ensuring consumer interests and protection.

- Representing the civil law notarial profession at the EU institutions.

As the CNUE’s first president-elect, I invite you to browse our website and learn more about the European civil law notary’s role.

Through its activities and above all its experience and proximity to consumers, the CNUE aims to contribute to the harmonious development of the legal area of freedom, security and justice in the EU and thus to help promote a European Union that is closer to consumer interests.
